Get the floor right.
Sizing, placement and layering, room by room — so your colour blocks land like you meant them to.

Living room
Go big. The rug should sit under at least the front legs of your sofa and chairs — it visually ties the seating together. A 120×160 plush rug anchors most lounges; size up for open-plan.

Hallway & kitchen
Think long and low. A runner should leave roughly 10–15 cm of floor on each side. Low-pile or memory-foam runners take heavy traffic and splashes without looking tired.

Entry & doors
Layer function. A coarse outer mat scrapes grit; a washable inner mat catches the rest. Pair a boot tray for wet weather. Colour-block the threshold to set the tone of the whole home.

Bedroom & bath
Soft landings. A round accent rug beside the bed gives bare feet a warm first step; a pebble bath mat handles drips. Keep palettes tonal here for calm, or clash for energy.
